Skydance has announced a new return-to-office policy requiring all employees to work in person five days a week. Chief Executive Officer David Ellison and Co-CEO Ynon Kreiz informed staff of the directive on Monday afternoon, stating in an internal memo that the mandate applies companywide. Leadership cited enhanced communication and cross-organizational collaboration as primary drivers behind the move, emphasizing that in-person interaction remains essential to the company’s long-term business strategy and culture.
To accommodate employees who are unwilling or unable to meet the full-time office requirement, the company is offering a voluntary buyout option. Eligible staff members will receive individualized communications outlining their specific offer terms, which consist of two weeks of severance pay for every year of service at the firm. Employees have until November 8 at 11:00 p.m. ET to accept or decline the one-time offer.
This policy shift comes on the heels of major corporate restructuring, following Paramount’s recent $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery to form the expanded Skydance media entity. While former Warner Bros. Discovery employees were previously bound by a three-day hybrid schedule, Skydance’s broader return-to-office strategy mirrors earlier measures taken at its New York and Los Angeles offices, where five-day in-person mandates and severance options were previously instituted.
