Congolese riders participate during a demonstration to demand justice for the murder of civilians killed during a protest against the presence of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has experienced a series of violent incidents, including a recent massacre in Kasanga on February 12, 2025, where at least 70 Christian civilians were abducted and executed by Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) militants.
Additionally, the ongoing conflict in eastern DRC, particularly in Bukavu, has resulted in widespread violence and civilian casualties. As of March 2, 2025, the M23 rebels, backed by Rwanda, have been advancing in the region, leading to significant displacement and casualties.
