In the last year I have sold off most of my physical library. 400 or so books, bibles, prayer books and commentary series. I was surprised to learn that I was top seller of books on eBay for the month of May and June of this year. I kept the most precious of my premium bibles and collectables. I have prayer books and bibles that I have been collecting for years. One volume in particular dates to the late 1800’s.
I resisted the inevitable for a long, long time but I recently converted most of my physical library to digital library with a Logos Max subscription. I am taking seminary classes and it is much easier to carry around 380,000 books around on a laptop. My office was getting quite crowded as well. Here is an example of what my shelves used to look like….

The John MacArthur Commentary series was the easiest to convert. Every word, passage and cross reference is indexed and searchable in Logos which makes research so much better. I had been taking digital notes for years and now I have them cross referenced across multiple translations and reference books. What honestly sold me was the AI features. It’s a whole new ball game now. Here is a screenshot of my desktop layout on my laptop.
