The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has officially cut all ties with the Church in Wales following the appointment of Bishop Cherry Vann, an openly lesbìan cleric, as the 15th Archbishop of Wales.
The decision was announced by the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, the Most Reverend Henry Ndukuba, who described the development as ‘an abomination’ and a serious departure from biblical truth.
Congratulations to the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion on this bold step. Imagine having a woman as your Archbishop, and to worsen it, she is a lesbian, what kind of nonsense is that? well done the Primate of Nigeria.
Primate Henry Ndukuba, calling the development “an abomination,” announced the decision at the Church’s 14th Conference of Chancellors, Registrars, and Legal Officers in Abuja. Drawing parallels to the 2003 Gene Robinson consecration in the US, he said, “We are severing every tie and relationship with the Church of Wales.”
Ndukuba decried what he called “revisionist teachings” in the Western Church and reaffirmed support for orthodox Anglicans in Wales through the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON). He also revealed new missionary efforts in Europe and significant financial contributions to GAFCON’s global work.
Legal professionals were urged to act as “watchmen for the Church” and support ongoing constitutional reform, both within the Church and in Nigeria.
